The market for green products has now broadened to include home furnishings.  No longer satisfied to buy furnishings that are mass produced in unethical factories from precious resources, consumers are on the hunt for green furniture and other items to decorate their homes.  But what makes furniture eco-friendly?  There are actually several options:

The plastic shopping bag is an endangered species.  Around the world bans on plastic bags (also known as environmental dandruff) have been implemented in cities and countries where citizens are determined to put an end to their use.  In their place are a whole new generation of green bags which are made sustainably and intended for many years of use.

In an effort to stimulate the economy and promote better environmental practices the Green Bank Act has been proposed before Congress and is awaiting approval.  This revolutionary institution will be a tax-exempt corporation owned by the U.S. government and will provide financing to clean energy projects.  Initial funding of the Green Bank will be $10 billion which will be passed on to other Green Investing projects totaling up to half a trillion dollars in the first ten years of operation.

The global concern for the environment has prompted most people to begin looking for better ways to do almost everything in their lives.  We have reconsidered the way we shop, eat, and travel; and now we are looking for better ways of cleaning.  This includes, of course, dry cleaning services for our best eco-duds.  But really, is there any such thing as green dry cleaning?
