Human health is inextricably tied to environmental health. Forbes reports today that the organic garden at the White House may not be very environmentally friendly.

"Michelle Obama's "organic" White House garden was designed to promote a green agenda. In order to provide safe food to children in the community, the First Lady wouldn't use chemical pesticides or fertilizers. Green groups cheered. In an ironic twist, all of that has now backfired."

The US House Energy and Commerce Committee recently approved the “Cash for Clunkers” program which will pay consumers to get rid of their failing, not-so-green cars and trade them in for more fuel efficient models.
