Wind energy has a lot of great potential for getting us off oil. While it is related to solar energy (air masses of different temperatures create wind, essentially), a wind mill functions rain or shine, day or night, and can be adapted for big energy projects or positioned on private homes as well.

Every month, we add energy to our carbon footprint by the way we clean our laundry. The average household adds over 2,000 pounds of CO2 to the atmosphere to dry their clothing, and about 7 percent of the average American home’s energy goes to running the washing machine (this doesn’t include the energy needed to heat water).  Our water heaters add an additional 13 to 17 percent to annual energy bills!

More and more vacationers are looking into eco-tourism options in a desire to reduce the impact of their holiday. Many are also interested in eco-friendly holiday experiences that bring them closer to nature.

Despite the down economy, seacoastonline.com reports green businesses are doing well

"You're hearing it straight from the horse's mouth," said Sarah Brown, who created the Green Alliance just under two years ago, with just two businesses. "We set up this organization right smack dab in the middle of the recession and yet the Green Alliance just exploded. I think that right there is an incredible testament to the strength of green."

There are many gases in our atmosphere, but of all the options, hydrogen has the highest energy content by weight and is the most plentiful gas around. It is also the simplest element in our planet since it has only one proton. Also note that it has the lowest energy content by volume and is the lightest element.
