Human health is inextricably tied to environmental health. Some individuals are well aware of this truth and are working daily to improve their personal wellbeing by making choices that will boost their health and that of the environment, too. Eco spas are one of the newest rages among the green and wealthy, offering those seeking green relaxation that’ll bring them health and peace.
Mandala Spa Boracay, realizing the combined interests of environment and health in many of their clients, has recently launched a new “Treement” program allowing guests to indulge while helping the earth. Every time guests receive a treatment at the spa, a seedling will be planted and cared for in protected areas in Boracay and Aklan mainland in Asia. Some can even name their tree and receive updates on how the tree is growing over time!
This program is being administered in part through the Malay Department of Environment and National Resources and aims to connect guests with nature, one tree at a time.
Indulging in Eco Spa Treatments for the Sake of the Trees
There are many services being offered to guests of the Mandala Spa Boracay, including things like:
- Hawaiian Kahuna Massage with footbath and floral bath that makes use of coconut oil
- Stone Magic Therapy
- Green Coffee (Slimming) Therapy
- Royal Licorice and Green Tea Facial
- Pre Natal Massage
- Mandala Signature Massage
- Watsu
- Shodhana Karma Detoxification and Rejuvenation Treatment
It all sounds very tempting, however, I wonder if they couldn’t further their green image by offering guests the option of purchasing carbon offsets for their journey to the resort. After all, most of the guests will likely have to fly to get to the villas, making it difficult for people to truly claim that they’re on a green vacation.
Nonetheless, I think this sounds like a unique and interesting program that will attract people to their resort, especially those concerned about finding an environmentally-friendly spa and resort. And who wouldn’t want to indulge in those tantalizing treatments for the sake of the trees?
